Chad Valley, Gold Panda…

I came across Hugo Emanuel aka Chad Valley whilst stumbling about at this summers Truck festival…. and I am glad I did. Really enjoyed his set and I was taken aback by how great his voice was…

Ive been following Derwin aka Gold Panda for a while and have enjoyed the few tracks he has released… he finally released his album yesterday (digitally at least) and you can listen to it free on his website

Transmission from a distant dreamscape…

I came across Women’s first album in a second-hand record store in Brighton. I didn’t know much about them, but the cd was only 2 pounds and i liked the cover art (always good criteria to buy an album!). Anyway, I ended up really falling in love with it. I love the way the album is recorded, a sort of lo-fi recording with just enough dissonance and noise to add as opposed to detract from the final product. Although at times incredibly noisy and full of feedback, I find their music to be incredibly relaxing, other worldly….anyway they are back with a follow-up album ‘Public Strain’, which I am really enjoying at the moment. Here is a great song from the album.

It has been a while, but finally we have some new stuff from Mr Jesus loving Sufjan Stevens! ‘All delighted people’ is epic… makes me think he should write a score for a musical, just imagine that. oh and you can stream it all for free, enjoy…
