I came across Hugo Emanuel aka Chad Valley whilst stumbling about at this summers Truck festival…. and I am glad I did. Really enjoyed his set and I was taken aback by how great his voice was…

Electro! – Caribou, Crystal Castles, Phantogram…

There has been some really great electro sounding albums that have come out recently.
Caribou’s new album ‘Swim’ is brilliant. A cleverly crafted, dark electro dance album with real attention to detail. Here is a great, if slightly odd, video for ‘Sun’ taken from the new album…

The infamous Crystal Castles are back with a, confusingly, self titled second album. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this release. There has always been a lot of internet hype surrounding them, and initially I thought people were making a big deal out of not very much, but with their second album it seems they have proved me wrong… im really enjoying it.

I had the pleasure of seeing Phantogram at this years Truck festival. They had a great live set. Their debut album ‘Eyelid Movies’ is also a great album… here is a video for ‘Mouthful of Diamonds’ taken from their debut album
